Hallingdal Winter Wonderland

Travelling the Adventure Road means you can experience Winter Norway at its absolute best. Some of Norway’s most popular destinations are found in the winter wonderland of Hallingdal, including Hemsedal and Geilo. Marvellous skiing to be had also in Ål, Nesbyen and Gol/Golsfjellet. In short, Hallingdal constitutes a concentrated, diverse skiing region where everyone can find their own winter paradise. For those wanting to see more, the fjords are just a day trip away.

The wide range of alpine activities available in Hallingdal has formed the basis for a common lift card, called ’Vinterlandkortet’. The card covers 8 different ski centres with a total of more than 135 ski slopes.

Short distances between the skifields allow you to follow a connecting ski trail network between the destinations in Hallingdal. This allows for great diversity in your options. For instance, you can take the short, safe ski trip in wooded terrain, sheltered from weather and wind. Then when Easter weather sets in, you can ski long trips inand over the mountains, on both the prepared ski trails or over virgin snow.

Hallingdal Trail (Hallingdalsløypa)– a unique skiing experience

The Hallingdal trail (sometimes called Adventure Trail/Eventyrløypa) is a ski trail that travels through alpine terrain the length of Hallingdal, and accordingly offers challenging, exciting stretches at times.
